The feature of Shizuoka International Opera Competition
There are only three competitions, which have "Opera Competition" in their appellation among the many international vocal competitions (members of WFIMC ).
If only the ability to sing opera arias is required in the competition, it cannot be named "Opera Competition". The reason we give our competition the name "Opera Competiton" is that we have the challenging assignment at the 2nd round, where competitors cannot go to the finals without the ability to perform a role of operas from the beginning to the end.

静岡国際オペラコンクールとは
数ある国際コンクール（国際音楽コンクール世界連盟加盟）の中で、名称に“オペラ”と冠しているコンクールは世界に僅か3つしかありません。
単にオペラアリアの歌唱だけを競うのならば、オペラコンクールとはいえません。当コンクールがオペラコンクールと銘打っている所以は、一つのオペラの初めから終わりまでの全てを歌い上げる力がなければ勝ち残れないハイレベルな課題（第2次予選）を課しているからです。
